Significant progress is being made on the Duluth Public Schools’ Long Range Facilities Plan, with four schools already complete and construction and design work underway at several others.
Four schools are finished: Stowe Elementary, Homecroft Elementary, Lowell Elementary and Lakewood Elementary.
Work is in progress at four schools (completion date in parenthesis): Denfeld High School (Fall 2011), Lester Park/Rockridge Elementary (Fall 2011), Eastern High School (Fall 2011) and Eastern Middle School (2012).
Plans are in place and construction will start soon at three schools: Western Middle School (Fall 2012), Laura MacArthur Elementary (Spring 2011) and Lincoln-Piedmont Elementary (Fall 2011).
Citizens are in the process of designing two schools: Grant/Nettleton Elementary (Fall 2011) and Congdon Park Elementary (Fall 2011).
Recent News
The Duluth School Board, on a 4-3 vote, on Thursday awarded $22 million bid package for the new eastern high school. Only about $9 million remains to be bid.
