Duluth Denfeld and Duluth Central varsity hockey players — a.k.a. the Cenfeld Trojan Hunters — are bonding nicely, thank you. Look for the same from the entire Duluth Central and Duluth Denfeld student bodies, as the two schools merge in the fall.
The Denfeld and Central hockey programs will play as Duluth Central Trojans for 2010-11, and will become the Duluth Denfeld Hunters for good a year later — as Duluth Central High School closes.
Denfeld and Central players are skating together in summer workouts three times a week at the Duluth Heritage Sports Center this summer, and are using the Duluth Denfeld locker room as their home base.
Players poked good fun at each other in the locker room before Monday’s workout, and they carried it out to the ice during a brisk one-hour workout. Many of the players are already friends, having played on same teams in youth hockey.
Mark it down: the Denfeld and Central players are bonding, big-time, and they’re having fun. Tons of fun.
There’s a genuine strong sense of excitement among students as the Duluth Central and Duluth Denfeld communities combine in the fall. It should be an awesome year!
They’re also good sports, and even gathered for a team photo (above).
